My mom offered to babysit for a few days. She is a school counselor, and has to return back to work on Monday, so she was wanting to spend time with my daughter before going back. So, I took advantage of being childless today. I got up early, threw on a baseball cap, grabbed some Starbucks, and attacked the local thrift stores. I had to share one of my finds...
This little (or big, rather) lady set me back a whoppin' $4.99. She's a heavy girl, and has beautiful bones... but her color reminded me of a squash. Ugly green overtones, and muted mustard under... yuck. Nothin' that some Rustoleum white spray paint can't fix (since the vase is porcelain, I purchased the paint that will adhere to ANYTHING)....
And, I like the way she looks....
It's delicate nooks and crannies are highlighted just enough in white....
And those handles... aaaahh!
It's really perfect to nestle a bundle of delicate feathers inside... So much prettier, and so clean!
One of my favorite things to decorate with are vintage items... that's really what I was searching for at the thrift stores... no luck, though...
For now, I'll settle with this suitcase from my Great Grandmother that sits below a lamp on a sidetable.
How long has it been since you've been thrift store shopping?? Are you looking for vintage pieces, too?
Hope you all have a great weekend - RELAX & enjoy!
